About Alexander Diatlov, Anton Diatlov, Nazar Mokrynskyi, Ivan Pasichnyk
Energy efficiency may be a hot topic for politicians in Brussels, but no so much for developers. But inspired by a TED Talk on energy, Alexander Diatlov, Anton Diatlov, Nazar Mokrynskyi, and Ivan Pasichnyk decided to create an app which would help save energy in an easy and cost-effective manner. That is – in short – how EcoisMe came into life.
EcoisMe allows you to place a special sensor on your power line and connect it to the cloud. Later, you can measure your total energy consumption and see how much electricity is used by every single device you have in your home. EcoisMe not only suggests how to save more energy, but also gives you prizes and discounts for being a green citizen.
Alexander Diatlov, Anton Diatlov, Nazar Mokrynskyi, and Ivan Pasichnyk are all Ukrainian, but work in Kraków, Poland, at hub:raum, a startup accelerator that invited them after their successful appearances at various hackathons. They could choose between Dubai and Kraków, but as Alexander Diatlov puts it: “We decided that hub:raum’s offer was much more interesting for us, because they offered us not just investments, but smart money, and we declined the [other] offer.” They are currently working with different companies and corporations to further develop their product.
EcoisMe is not the first product of the team. Mr. Diatlov, Mr. Diatlov, Mr. Mokrynskyi, and Mr. Pasichnyk are also the force behind opir.org, a website that helped to coordinate activists during the Ukrainian revolution. It now provides coverage of the electoral process and innovative information system on the corruption of the public authorities. “We built it under severe pressure, with zero budget and while the whole world was falling apart around us,” says Alexander Diatlov.
